Dutch NT2 Beginners
Get started with Dutch NT2 through our online and offline beginners courses. We offer classes at various locations throughout Amsterdam, as well as online via Zoom. Whether you're learning Dutch for work, study, or everyday life, our courses provide a friendly and structured introduction to the language.
The beginners Dutch NT2 courses will take you from level A0 to level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages — the CEFR (in Dutch: het ERK). This means you'll be able to understand and use familiar expressions, communicate in simple terms, and handle common situations. If you're not sure which course suits you best, we recommend scheduling an intake. During this short conversation, we’ll assess your current level and help you choose the right course.

Dutch courses for absolute beginners and continuing learners
Volksuniversiteit Amsterdam offers Dutch courses for absolute beginners (A0) and for learners with some prior knowledge (A1). Courses are available during the day or in the evening, at various locations in Amsterdam or online via Zoom. Classes are small and personal, with attention to your learning goals and pace.

Our teachers are experienced, dedicated, and specialized in adult language education. Lessons are interactive and practical, with a strong focus on speaking skills, cultural context, and real-life situations. Adults aged 18 and above are warmly welcome.
